As announced here, I would like to share my adventures in container gardening with you. This will be the seventh gardening year for me, but I still feel like a freshman in many ways. In the last couple of years, I focused mainly on flowers for decorative purposes. This year, however, I will try vegetables and fruits on a larger scale. I already had some success with raspberries and herbs in the past and I can’t wait to try various other stuff this time around. It’s still pretty early in the year to talk about container gardening. Much of my perennial plants are still sleeping on the balcony. Hopefully, they all made it through the winter, but there’s no guarantee. I already started into the new gardening year by sowing a few seeds to be planted outside in a few months. I use peat pots, because then I don’t have to remove the young plants from them. I can simply put the peat pot into a larger container, where it will ultimately dissolve. I started with eggplants and bell peppers. This is how it looks now:
