Tonight I will be at an election party in Munich, where I live and study at the moment. The party will be at the so called Amerika Haus, which was part of the reeducation program after WWII and continues to be an important institution offering exhibitions, cultural and political events and so much more on the US and Canada. It is a truly amazing place. I already attended an extremely interesting book presentation by Robert Kagan this year and lots of other events dealing with virtually every detail of this election.
However, tonight’s election party is certainly this year’s highlight. There will be music, food, discussions and a good mixture of natives and expats. The downside of attending such an event in Europe is, of course, the different time zone. Just thinking about staying up all night for the results makes me yawn. So hopefully there will also be gallons of hot coffee.
